AC repair and installation in Dubai

Dubai asks more of an air conditioner than almost anywhere. A unit runs hard from March to November, often round the clock, in air that carries fine dust most of the year. That combination is why the same handful of faults come up again and again — and why a unit that is serviced on a schedule tends to last years longer than one that is only touched when it fails.

We install, service and repair split and window air conditioning for apartments, villas and offices across Dubai. A visit starts by finding out what is actually wrong rather than replacing parts and hoping.

The faults we see most often

• Cooling has weakened but the unit still runs. Usually a dirty filter or coil, or refrigerant that has slowly leaked away. Low gas is a symptom, not a fault — topping it up without finding the leak means you will call us again in a few months.
• Water dripping from the indoor unit. Nearly always a blocked drain line. Left alone it stains ceilings and damages plasterboard, so it is worth dealing with quickly.
• The unit will not start at all. Could be a capacitor, a contactor, a thermostat or the isolator — cheap parts, but the diagnosis is what matters.
• Noise or vibration that is new. A fan bearing, a loose mounting, or debris in the blower.
• It runs constantly and never reaches the set temperature. Often an undersized unit for the room, or heat getting in faster than the unit can remove it.

How much does AC repair cost in Dubai?

It depends entirely on the fault, which is why we quote per job rather than publishing a fixed price. A drain clear is a small job. A compressor replacement is not. What we can promise is that you will be told the price before we start, and that if we open a unit and find something worse than expected, we stop and tell you rather than running up the bill.

How long does the visit take?

Most repairs are done in about two hours on site. Installations and larger jobs take longer, and we will tell you when we quote. We can usually attend within a few hours of your call for a repair.

Is it worth repairing or should I replace the unit?

An honest answer depends on the age of the unit and the part that has failed. As a rough guide: if the compressor has gone on a unit that is already eight or more years old, replacement is usually the better value. Almost anything else is worth repairing. We will tell you which situation you are in — we would rather you trusted the advice than bought a unit you did not need.

If airflow is weak and the air smells dusty or damp, the problem may be in the ductwork rather than the unit. Duct and vent cleaning is a separate job and often worth doing at the same time. For properties where you would rather not think about it at all, an annual maintenance contract covers scheduled servicing before the summer rather than emergency call-outs during it.
