Fridge and freezer repair in Dubai

A fridge is the one appliance where a delay costs you money directly, because everything inside it is on a clock. It is also the appliance most affected by Dubai's summer: a unit that coped in February can struggle in August, when the kitchen itself is warmer and the compressor never gets a rest.

What usually goes wrong

• Fridge not cooling but the light works. The two are on different circuits, so a working light tells you nothing about the cooling system. Usually the compressor, the start relay, or a fan that has stopped.
• Freezing everything, even on a low setting. Thermostat or the damper that controls airflow between compartments.
• Heavy ice build-up at the back of the freezer. The defrost system — heater, thermostat or timer. Ice restricts airflow, so the fridge section warms up while the freezer over-freezes.
• Water pooling inside or under the unit. Blocked defrost drain. Common, and usually a quick fix.
• Running constantly and never switching off. Door seal, thermostat, or low refrigerant.
• New noise — buzzing, clicking or rattling. A clicking sound that repeats every few minutes is often the start relay, and it is worth attending to before the compressor is damaged.

What to do before we arrive

If the fridge has stopped cooling entirely, move what you can to a neighbour's or a cool box, and keep the door shut otherwise — a closed fridge holds temperature for several hours. Do not keep switching it off and on; if a compressor is struggling, short cycling makes it worse.

How much does fridge repair cost in Dubai?

Quoted per job once we have diagnosed it. A blocked drain or a failed relay is small work. A compressor replacement is a much bigger job, and on an older unit we will usually tell you honestly that a new fridge is the better buy. The diagnosis is what you are paying for first — guessing at fridge faults is expensive.

Usually the same day. Fridges are prioritised over most other appliance calls for the obvious reason.
